Dramatic Form Meets Class-Leading Function in the New Distinctive 36 Gas Cooktop from Dacor

Designed in Collaboration with BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the latest addition to the Distinctive Series symbolizes the innovation and quality consumers have come to expect from Dacor

COSTA MESA, Calif. - October 14, 2010 - Dacor®, a market leader in the design and manufacture of luxury kitchen appliances, today introduced the new Distinctive 36" Gas Cooktop.  A stylish design, with remarkable craftsmanship, the Distinctive Cooktop will be a striking addition to any kitchen, while offering the performance and value that consumers expect from the Distinctive Series. 

The Distinctive 36" Gas Cooktop is the first Dacor product developed in collaboration with BMW Group DesignworksUSA, a company well known for its forward-thinking innovation in design development and selective use of color, materials and finishes.  A fellow California-based company, BMW Group DesignworksUSA has worked with many of the world's great brands and is an international leader in design strategy, premium design development, and brand communication.  Now, BMW Group DesignworksUSA brings its expertise to Dacor and its Distinctive 36" Gas Cooktop, designed to bring a unique style to any kitchen while enhancing the appearance of both countertops and cabinetry alike.

BMW Group DesignworksUSA recognizes that style and appearance are equally as important as an appliance's features and functions, and has ensured that each stylish design detail also serves a purpose.  The Cooktop is designed with ergonomic angled controls for ease of use and IlluminaTM Indicator Lights that glow in Dacor's signature flame-blue when a burner is on, providing a modern, eye-catching look while making kitchen safety a priority.  The design team employed a strict proces of direction, design and development ensuring that the Distinctive Cooktop was developed with both creativity and quality.

"The new Distinctive 36" Gas Cooktop was designed to meet the needs of home chefs, while also appealing to today's value-conscious homeowner," said Mauricio Roca, Director of Product Development at Dacor.  "The Distinctive Cooktop includes signature Dacor design touches in an affordable, high-performance appliance, providing value along witha professional-quality culinary experience."

Full of features that provide professional-grade performance, the Distinctive Cooktop is an amenity that enhances a kitchen's overall look, while supplying consumers with endless culinary possibilities.  The Cooktop is equipped with five burners to meeet every cooking need, including one SimmerSearTM burner with melting feature, which allows superior precision and control for the home chef with the option to simmer, sear or sauté at ultra-high or ultra-low temperatures (up to 18,000 BTUs).  To address other cooking needs, the Cooktop also has two sealed gas burners that provide 12,000 BTUs and two sealed gas burners that provide 9,000 BTUs.

The new cooktop features Dacor's exclusive PermaCleanTM Finish, a scratch-resistant surface that can handle tough scrubbing so that baked on even burnt-on messes clean up with ease, leaving the Cooktop surface beautiful.  In additon to the exclusive PermaClean finish, the Distinctive Cooktop has a one-piece spill basin to further ensure that clean up will be a breeze.

The industry leading Continuous Platform Grates provide for the optimum cooking surface for larger pots while allowing for multiple pans side-by-side.  Additionally, the Perma-FlameTM instant re-ignition feature automatically re-lights a burner immediately if it goes out, ensuring continuous heating and a nearly effortless cooking process.

Ensuring that the Distinctive Cooktop is fully functional for the life of the kitchen, Dacor has equipped all burners with Smart FlameTM technology, which ensures the burner flames do not directly contact the fingers of the porcelain-coated cast iron grates, helping to extend the life of the grates.

The latest offering from Dacor's new Distinctive Series, the Distinctive 36" Cooktop, contains the features of higher-end cooktops, while remaining in a competitive price range.  The Distinctive Series provides a permium culinary experience to a wider group of customers through a selection of recently launched prodcuts, including the Distinctive Range, the Single and Double Wall Ovens, the 36" and 30" Rangetop, and the 24" Dishwasher.  With the Distinctive Series, more homes can now incorporate the modern design and innovative features normally found on higher-priced appliances.  The new Cooktop rolls out to authorized Dacor dealers on November 1, 2010 with an MSRP of $1,210.

Exclusive Style and Innovative Features Provide Reliability and Value in the Latest Dishwashers from Dacor

Cutting edge features and streamlined design combine to offer new high-performance, energy efficient appliances from Dacor

COSTA MESA, Calif. - September 16, 2010 - Dacor®, a market leader in the design and manufacture of luxury kitchen appliances, today introduced the new DistinctiveTM, RenaissanceTM and Integrated 24" Dishwashers.  These new appliances are a beautiful combination of style, performance, and value.

With unsurpassed craftsmanship, the Distinctive Dishwasher gives customers the designer look they desire in an affordably-priced, feature-rich appliance.  With features like the recessed hidden handle and electronic one-touch controls on the front panel, the Distinctive Dishwasher brings a modern and sophisticated design to any kitchen.  Designed to handle any mess, the Distinctive Dishwasher also features seven highly effective wash zones to ensure the entire load gets completely clean, while four wash cycles allow the dishwasher to tackle everything from simple rinses to seriously baked-on messes with ease.

The Distinctive Dishwasher is also the latest product addition to Dacor's Love You Back Bonus promotion, which offers free appliances based on certain purchase levels.  Customers can now receive the Distinctive Dishwasher free when they purchase at least $9,000 worth of other Dacor appliances.  Customers can also upgrade to the Renaissance or Integrated Dishwasher for only $500 when they spend $9,000, or upgrade to the Distinctive Dishwasher for only $500 when they spend at least $6,000.  The promotion ends December 31, 2010.

The 24" Renaissance and Integrated Dishwashers bring great looks, durability and high-performance to customers.  Offering a clean, modern finish, the ergonomic controls are hidden, but still readily accessible for ease of use.  The Renaissance Dishwasher offers a choice between the elegant Epicure® handle or a sleek Millennia® handle, while the Integrated style gives users the ability to seamlesly match their kitchen cabinets with a customizable wood panel.  With six wash cycles and seven wash zones to cover every dishwashing need from scrubbing to quick rinses, as well as two drying levels, including the RapidDryTM fan which dries all dishes rapidly, the Renaissance and Integrated Dishwashers are an eye-catching balance of form and function.

Further enhancing the streamlined design, Dacor equipped the Distinctive Dishwasher and the Renaissance Dishwasher with its PrintFreeTM stainless steel finish that resists smudges and fingerprints so the dishwasher exterior will remain spotless, just like the dishes inside.

Style and functionality aside, the Distinctive, Renaissance, and Integrated Dishwashers provide very low water and energy consumption, making these high-performance dishwashers environmentally friendly and ENERGY STAR® qualified.  In fact, these dishwashers exceed the energy standard by using 41% less energy and 33% less water than non-qualified dishwashers.  In addition to being some of the lowest water users on the market, the dishwashers offer a 3-Part PureFiltration SystemTM, which means users don't have to waste water pre-rinsing dishes to enjoy a higher level of clean.

Dacor Expands ENERGY STAR Qualified Refrigerator Offering

New 36" Freestanding French Door Refrigerator offers precise temperature control and exterior water and ice dispenser for added convenience.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - March 25, 2010 -Dacor, family-owned market leader in luxury kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, introduced the upgraded 36" Freestanding French Door Refrigerator.  Offering increased energy savings, the upgraded refrigerator features an exterior ice and water dispenser, which includes temperature controls on the keypad for easy adjustment without openng the refrigerator door.

According to ENERGY STAR®, the average family spends $2,200 each year on energy bills.  Upgrading to an ENERGY STAR® rated appliance can save more than $165 over the lifetime of the product.  Dacor's ENERGY STAR® rated refrigerators are 20% more efficient than non-compliant refrigerators.  And beginning this spring, all of the U.S. states and territories are running programs designed to help consumers replace old, inefficient appliances with new ENERGY STAR® qualified models.  Refrigerators are among the most popular appliances receiving rebates through the program, with savings ranging from $45-$500, with most being about $100-$150.

The 36" Refrigerator consumes less energy than a 75-watt light bulb and the exterior water and ice dispenser will minimize the amount of time the doors are open, leading to even greater energy savings.

THE COOL DETAILS

The 36" Freestanding French Door Refrigerator features stainless steel doors which extend over the hinges to give the front a clean look.  With an external dispenser, serving up fresh, cool, filtered ice and water at the touch of a button, the convenient French Door provides full access to the interior.  Boasting impressive interior storage, the in-door gallon bins are large enough to hold cartons of milk and juice and slide out shelving allows accessibility to all items in the refrigerator.

The easy-to-navigate, electronic panel glows in Dacor's signature blue, displays internal temperature and alerts owners when the water filter needs to be changed.  There is no need to lose precious energy opening the refrigerator door, the external dispenser serves up fresh, cool, filtered ice and water at the touch of a button.

The bottom freezer drawer features fully enclosed baskets that keep frozen food organized and stop food and ice from falling through.  The drawer glides open effortlessly with a rack-and-pinon system for easy access to the items in the rear.  The freezer drawer includes upper and lower freezer baskets and dividers.  With fresh food storage on top and the freezer underneath, users have better access to the items that are used more frequently.

An innovative modular design system allows owners to customize each model to fit their personal style with either the professional, classic Epicure handles or the more contemporary Millennia® handles.

The 36" Refrigerator now features Sabbath Mode, which allows the door to be opened or closed at any time without concern of directly turning on or off any lights or features and will begin rolling out to authorized Dacor dealers in April 2010.

Dacor Introduces the Distinctive 30'' Dual-Fuel Range

Dacor's newest range combines professsional performance and contemporary design with affordability.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - March 4, 2010 - Dacor®, market leader in luxury kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, today introduced the new Distinctive™ 30" Dual-Fuel Range.  Offering the perfect balance of stylish design and premium performance, the Distinctive Dual-Fuel Range gives consumers the benefits of cooking with a luxury appliance but at an affordable price.

Continuing with Dacor's long tradition of developing innovative appliances that enhance the cooking experience, the Distinctive 30" Dual-Fuel Range provides home chefs with features to rival competitors' models, including angled control graphics that are easy to read from a comfortable standing position and electronic indicator lights for safer cooking.

The Distinctive 30" Dual-Fuel Range features six cooking modes - Bake, Broil, Convection Bake, Convection Broil, Convection Roast and Pure Convection™.  Dacor's exclusive four-part Pure Convection™ creates uniform temperatures throughout the oven cell using a custom-designed air baffle for channeling hot air in a perfect pattern.  The unique convection filter captures grease and flavor particles within the oven cell, allowing users to cook multiple dishes simultaneously without the worry of flavor transfer, making it possible to have dinner and desert ready at the same time.

On the cooktop, SimmerSear™ Burners offer cooks a wide range of cooking temperatures to ensure the perfect simmer, sear or sauté.  A one-piece porcelain-enameled spill basin beneath the burners catch any food or grease that may fall through for easier cleanup.  Dacor's Continuous Platform Grates make maneuvering pots and pans around burners a simple task and add extra space for oversized cookware.  Smart Flame™ Technology reduces the flame output under each grate finger to protect the finish without limiting the temperature.

Dacor Appliances Now Featured in Autodesk Home Design and Virtual Showroom Applications

Professionals and consumers can now experience greater design freedom when planning kitchen remodels.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - February 23, 2010 - Dacor, market leader in luxury kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, today announced the brand is the first featured in the Autodesk® Project Dragonfly technology preview.  Project Dragonfly is an intuitive and highly engaging, free web application that homeowners can use to configure room designs and layouts on the fly from any computer or browser.  In addition, Dacor products are now also available in the Autodesk Seek web service and through the Autodesk Showroom web application.  The addition of the Dacor brand and products to these web applications provides users with instant access to product images and information about Dacor's entire suite of kitchen appliances for easy placement into custom layouts and design scenarios to gain a truly personalized experience.

Project Dragonfly is a free web-based home design application that simplifies home improvement projects.  Consumers can directly participate in the design process using the intuitive interior design tool to rapidly layout and furnish their kitchen and design professionals can instantly share concepts with clients.  Users can share design scenarios with family and friends before selecting, and with the ability to include Dacor branded luxury kitchen appliances in project layouts, they can have more confidence in their remodeling choices.

Autodesk Showroom is an interactive web service which allows consumers, designers, builders and architects to mix and match projects in lifelike settings via their website.  With Autodesk Showroom powering Dacor's web site, visitors can view entire suites of Dacor appliances, and mix and match Dacor appliances with other kitchen elements to create their own photo-realistic kitchen visualizations.

Dacor Moves Corporate Headquarters to Orange County

New office space located in the landmark Plaza Tower near South Coast Plaza and the future home of the Design & Culinary Center and state-of-the-art training facility.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - February 22, 2010 - Dacor, market leader in luxury kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, today announced that it is relocating its corporate headquarters to the renowned Plaza Tower in Costa Mesa, overlooking one of California's most prestigious shopping districts, the South Coast Plaza.

After eight very good years in Diamond Bar, Dacor has signed a long-term lease with the Plaza Tower.  In addition to its location in one of Dacor's largest markets, the building was attractive for having earned the LEED-EB Gold Certification for its environmentally friendly construction and operation.  Dacor's new home is thus compatible with the company's serious commitment to the conservation of the environment, which includes the designing and manufacturing of innovative appliances in the most environmentally sensitive way possible and reducing the energy demands of the company's operations.

As a resident and supporter of the Orange County community, Chairman/CEO Michael Joseph is enthusiastic about the move.  "I am excited that we were able to move our company to this area, which has so much to offer," said Joseph.  "We had a remarkable eight-year run in Diamond Bar and previous to that, for 23 years in Pasadena.  However, I truly believe Dacor is in the best place at the right time and I am confident the company will soon begin to grow and prosper as never before."

Readying the company for new growth, the headquarters' relocation is the latest in a series of steps taken by Dacor over the past two years to realign its operations, consolidate corporate functions, increase efficiencies and reduce costs.

Designed and asssembled in California, the new Distinctive Double Wall Oven contiues the company's long heritage of developing innovative cooking appliances that provide people who are passionate about the details of cooking with the optimum ownership experience.  A unique understated handle sits completely flush with the wall oven door, providing kitchen designers and homeowners with additoinal freedom when planning kitchen layouts.  Along with the previously announced Distinctive Single Wall Oven, the Distinctive Double Wall Oven features Dacor's exclusive four-part Pure Convection™ technology, providing home chefs with the power to expand their culinary repertoire.

Available in a stylish stainless steel finish with an understated contemporary handle design, the Distinctive Doulbe Wall Oven features six intuitive cooking modes - Bake, Broil, Convection Bake, Convection Broil, Convection Roast, and Pure Convection™ - for the flexibility to create masterpieces.

The exclusive four-part Pure Convection™ system creates uniform temperatures on every level of the oven cell, using a custom designed air baffle for channeling hot air in a perfect pattern.  The unique convection filter captures grease and flavor particles within the oven cell, allowing users to cook multiple dishes simultaneously without the worry of flavor transfer.

With a hidden Bake and recessed Broil Element, the wall oven has more interior capacity to fit larger dishes and clean-up is easier.  An electronic touch control panel makes operation of the wall oven simple and digital timers and Temperature Hold helps users plan meals accordingly, so everything reaches the table at exactly the right time.  Bright inerior halogen lighting makes it easier to monitor oven contents.

The new Distinctive Double Wall Oven is the latest addition to the Dacor line of award-winning cooking appliances, which includes the timelss Renaissance™ and innovative Discovery™ series.  Renaissance Wall Ovens are classic in their design, but offer advanced features for impeccable performance.  Discovery Wall Ovens feature an easy-to-use interactive controller, preset with 99 of the most popular cooking modes organized by food type.  There is also room to store up to 100 personal recipe settings to help even the most novice chef cook like a groumet.

The Distinctive Double Wall Oven is Star-K Certified with Sabbath Mode for universal appeal and will begin rolling out to authorized Dacor dealers in February 2010, with pricing starting at $2,699.
