DACOR AT KBIS 2011
The 2011 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) saw a few changes. From KBIS Connect, which puts exhibitors and attendees in contact with each other and helps attendees set up their show schedule, to the Multimedia Lounge, to the NextGen Home, KBIS organizers kept the show fresh and innovative!
In case you’re unfamiliar with KBIS, it’s the kitchen and bath industry’s premier event. Owned by the National Kitchen & Bath Association, KBIS is the world’s largest annual international trade event focused exclusively on kitchens and baths and geared toward kitchen and bath dealers, designers, and architects. It’s the place to go to check out the latest products and trends from the industry’s top manufacturers.
This year’s show took place in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 26th – 28th. The trade show floor, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, buzzed with attendees who were eager to see the newest items that industry manufacturers had to offer.
The show had a slightly smaller attendance than years past, however you would never know it from the steady stream of visitors at Dacor’s booth. Dacor welcomed three days of enthusiastic traffic from customers, trade professionals, and even a couple television film crews!
This year, Dacor showcased the complete Distinctive™ Series, and select products from the Discovery™ Series and Renaissance™ Series. The company also debuted two new products – the Renaissance 30” Single Wall Oven, which has the largest interior capacity of any non-commercial oven available on the market today, and the Distinctive 30” Gas Cooktop. Dacor also displayed a new stainless steel knob prototype that will be included with all wall ovens and ranges beginning this summer.
Lots of exciting things were happening, but one item that really drew a crowd on Wednesday morning was Dacor’s Meet-and-Greet with Jeff Lewis, renowned designer and reality star of Bravo TV’s program, “Flipping Out,”. Jeff, along with his well-known assistant Jenny, spent two hours greeting fans and posing for pictures while fans lined up around the booth waiting for their chance to meet the designer. But Jeff wasn’t the only reality star at the show! Cabinet manufacturer, Merillat featured a live cooking demonstration with Curtis Stone, host of Bravo TV’s “Top Chef Masters.” Additionally, Eric Stromer, HGTV personality and host, interviewed Steve Joseph, Dacor’s Vice President of Marketing, for a radio show called “Home Wizards.”
Fanfare aside, the most important aspect of KBIS is the products; from the booths to the product demonstrations – the attendees want to see the latest and greatest innovations. This year, the Distinctive 30” Dual-Fuel Range won an award in the Best of Kitchens category. With six ingenious cooking modes - Convection Bake, Convection Broil, Convection Roast, Pure Convection™, Bake and Broil, a sleek design, and exceptional performance the Distinctive 30” Dual-Fuel Range is deserving of the prize, and Dacor was honored to be included in this year’s Best of KBIS showcase.
At the show, Dacor also introduced the company’s new Design Partner Program (DPP), and invited kitchen design professionals to register to receive valuable rewards and tools to support their clients' requests. For those design professionals that did not register for the DPP at KBIS, you may visit www.dacor.com/DPP and register today.
Dacor was excited to participate in KBIS this year and looks forward to continuing our communications with trade professionals. Visit Dacor’s Facebook to view our booth pictures from our KBIS 2011 photo album.
