AT THE SHOW
Atlanta was the place to be last month, for anyone in the kitchen and bath industry.
Dacor was proud to show its continued support of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) at the 2009 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS).
“While many of our competitors opted out of the show this year, we wanted to show our dealer and specifier partners that we remain committed to supporting their businesses, even in this stressed economic atmosphere,” said Steve Joseph, Vice President of Marketing at Dacor. “At the show, we were excited to introduce a host of new, innovative and stylish appliances that align with our long heritage as a trusted quality brand.”
The new 3,200 square foot booth featured the very best Dacor has to offer, showcasing everything from cooktops to warming drawers in Epicure®, Millennia® and Preference® styles, including the main kitchen with cabinetry from Bertch Cabinets in contemporary, country and classic designs.
The brilliant stainless steel of the Epicure 48″ Dual-Fuel Range, 30″ Dishwasher and 42″ Built-in Refrigerator took center stage against knotty walnut cabinetry with a hint of country flare. The Millennia 36″ Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, Discovery 30″ Double Wall Oven, 24″ Dishwasher and Microwave In-A-Drawer™, in all their formal glory in black glass with stainless steel accents, stood against a backdrop of contemporary dark wood cabinetry. Not to be outdone, a full suite of Preference appliances in Anthracite Gray, including the Preference 36″ Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, Discovery 30″ Double Wall Oven, 24″ Dishwasher and 30″ Warming Drawer, contrasted vibrantly against the beautiful cabinetry.
Doug Krainman, Publisher of Kitchen & Bath Business, received a personal tour of the Dacor booth for At the Show, a video showcase for K+BB TV. The video highlighted some of the show’s most innovative products, including a spotlight on the Epicure 36” Gas Range, the ENERGY STAR® qualified Epicure 36” Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator and the Distinctive Gas Rangetop, which debuted at K/BIS.

On Friday and Saturday during the show, celebrity chef Jan D’Atri took center stage to delight crowds during a series of cooking demonstrations. Guests satisfied their appetites as they viewed Dacor products, while Jan and her mom, Livia D’Atri, prepared their Picture Perfect Breakfast, Chicken Scaloppini ala Marsala and the delicious Garbage Salad on the Epicure 48″ Gas Cooktop – all hits among hungry show attendees.
More than 150 guests celebrated with Dacor during a relaxing cocktail party at the newly remodeled Dacor Design & Culinary Center in historic Buckhead. The 4,000 square foot showroom was recently transformed by a team of interior designers into an inviting, upscale space where guests can relax and designers can comfortably meet with their clients.
ON THE SHOW FLOOR
Providing passionate cooks with all the durability and control preferred in professional cooking appliances, the Epicure 30″ Gas Range features Dacor’s exclusive Illumina™ Burner Controls that glow in the brand’s signature flame-blue to indicate that a burner is on. And the enormous interior cavity has the capacity to hold full-size cake sheets.
The new ENERGY STAR® qualified Epicure and Integrated 36" Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerators brilliantly merge accessibility and functionality, providing an efficient food storage option that consumes less energy than a 60 watt light bulb.
Debuting at the show, the Millennia Distinctive 36″ and 30″ Gas Rangetops feature Dacor’s precision SimmerSear™ Burners that provide professional-level accuracy over a wide range of cooking temperatures, for the perfect sear, sauté or simmer. New Illumina™ Indicator Lights glow in the brand’s signature flame-blue to let users know when a burner is active, and the low-profile control panel sits on an angle for easy viewing from a comfortable standing position. The contemporary square design on the extra-wide Continuous Platform Grates provides generous space for any oversized pot, pan or wok without overcrowding the cooking surface.
Dacor also featured the stunning Preference style appliances, featuring a full suite of kitchen appliances with color-infused glass front panels in six attractive hues – Anthracite Gray, Sterling Gray, Titanium Silver, Blue Water, Slate Green and Black – offering homeowners the opportunity to introduce color in the kitchen in a subtle, unobtrusive manner.
The elegant Preference Renaissance Wall Ovens and Gas Cooktops exemplify Renaissance thinking with a streamlined design that combines luxurious style and cutting-edge performance details to create appliances that breathe new life into the kitchen.
“The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show has always been the premier venue to showcase the best Dacor has to offer, and this year was no different,” said Joseph. “The show was a great success and we look forward to showing our continued, consistent support for the NKBA and our business partners in future years.”
