Microwave FAQ

How do I remove odors from my microwave?

Answer:

Occasionally, a cooking odor may remain in the oven.  To remove, combine 1 cup of water, the grated peel and juice of one lemon and several whole cloves in a 2 cup glass measuring cup.  Boil for several minutes using 100% power.  Allow to set in the oven until cool.  Wipe interior with a soft cloth.  Please note, for strong odors, this process may need to be repeated.

I keep trying to cook popcorn in my DCM, and it burns badly on the bottom. What could be the problem?

Answer:

In the DCM, the turntable is metal, which can conduct energy and is the culprit of burning popcorn. Place a 9-10” glass pie dish (must be microwave safe. Check manufacturer’s recommendation), turned upside down in the center of the turntable, and place the popcorn on top. Please reference your Use & Care manual.

I used the sensor mode for a baked potato in my microwave, and it was still hard in the center. How can I get it to cook through?

Answer:

After you pierce the potato, place it on a paper towel-lined turntable. Press the sensor mode and cook. After cooking, remove from oven, wrap in aluminum foil and let stand 5-10 minutes. For more information, please refer to your Use & Care manual.
