Orange Ginger Cranberry Sauce

 This cranberry sauce from Hipcooks is quick and easy.  Create a new tradition this holiday.


  • 1 pound fresh whole cranberries
  • 3 oranges, zested and juiced
  • large nub of giner, peeled and grated
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar, to taste


Place all ingredients except sugar in a saucepan and heat over high heat.  Stir for about 2 minutes until mixture just begins to boil.

Add half the sugar, stir and cook a few minutes more.  The cranberries will pop delightfully and the sauce will begin to thicken.

Taste and see what it needs - a bit more tart orange, a touch of sugar, a smidge more spicy ginger?  Adjust the flavors until it's exactly what you want.

Remove from the heat when the texture is almost perfect, the sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
