Very satisfied with this 6 burner cooktop I recently purchased the Classic 6 burner liquid propane gas cooktop as a replacement for the same item that was 20 years old. The new product is much better than the old cooktop. I like the iron grates and the sealed top surface is easy to clean. The three burner sizes make cooking much more efficient too. I have the Dacor vent also and was able to almost do a drop in replacement of the new cooktop into the existing hole. A caution to anyone ordering this unit as a "direct replacement" for an older 46 in model- I was surprised to find that the can under the cooktop is one inch wider than my older unit. Fortunately, I was able to cut the countertop 1/2 in on each side and drop the new cooktop into the existing hole. It was the same dimensions in depth so it didn't impact the vent. One nit that I have with the new cooktop is related to the doors under the counter. When I open the door quickly while the stove is on the gas flames out and then auto re-lights. The old cooktop didn't do that. If I open the door slowly it's ok. I think this is because the burners are sealed and there is no other path for air to get to the burners. If there is a fix for this I would be interested in knowing what it is (short of drilling a hole in the floor and providing an auxiliary air path:)) . November 18, 2014
My new home is getting the same cooktop! I've had this 5-burner gas cooktop for 15 years. The range of burner sizes and placement is perfect for every need I've encountered. The simmer plate on the smallest burner simmers overnight without burning my tomato-based sauce recipes. It's never needed a repair or replacement of anything since I've owned it! In our new home kitchen plans, I will again purchase a Dacor 5- or 6-burner gas cooktop because there is nothing more I could want an island cooktop to do! July 23, 2014
After 19 years it is still a keeper After 19 years I am remodeling my kitchen and only keeping one thing...........my Dacor 46 inch cooktop. I love it! My other home has had a Wolf and a Viking but I much prefer the Dacor. The stainless is easy to clean and does not turn brown. May 29, 2014
I have had17 great years with my Dacor cooktop! My cooktop has been so reliable. It's like a good friend. It's also extremely easy to clean. I would & have recommended Dacor to friends. I would most certainly purchase Dacor products again. Thank you for your wonderful product! December 16, 2013
Good value, but shortcomings First of all, there isn't much if any competition in the 46-48" drop-in cooktop arena without spending thousands more, so from that perspective this unit is a good deal. That said, there are numerous shortcomings: -unit is difficult to clean in knob area - knobs too close together to get a sponge in, and knobs do not come off easily. -low BTU. Burners just don't have the oomph to do really high BTU cooking. For most uses however output is adequate -running unit on propane (with proper jets) burners spit and pop. Dacor says this is "normal" In the overall, pretty happy with the unit, but with a bigger budget I'd shop around December 14, 2013
I really like the 5 burner 36 inch cooktop. A year ago I purchased the Dacor cooktop and I am very happy with it. it is being used daily and cleanup is very easy. December 13, 2013
This product performance is outstanding. This cooktop has performed extremely well with propane. Good flame control. And the grate design allows for large pans and pots needed for canning. December 7, 2013
Classic 6 burner Dacor Our classic 6-burner Dacor cooktop was already installed in the kitchen of the house that we purchased. I use the cooktop at least once a day, if not more. Very easy to use once you figured out which knob lit which burner. The former homeowners did not clean the cooktop, ever, and there are several spots around the burner head that have a burned food appearance that I can not get off. Someone else mentioned that the stainless steel tray under the burners is hard to clean off. I also find that to be true for even new spills/splatters from my use. I have tried the recommended cleaners from Dacor's user guide, but it doesn't completely clean off the old stains/burned food. The burner ignitors have recently started acting up: won't light the burner or continue clicking after burner is lit. I'm guessing they are so dirty from previous lack of cleaning that they will all have to be replaced. Hopefully not as these parts aren't cheap. Otherwise the cooktop works great and we hope to get many more years out of it. We are guessing that it was installed in 2001-2002, so 10+ years so far isn't too bad. December 3, 2013
