A true winner!
Two years ago I remodeled my kitchen and I installed a Dacor Renaissance cooktop. From the first day cooking on this stove top has been a joy. Two of the burners have a diffuser which makes cooking sauces and simmering very easy. There is plenty of room for a number of large pots/pans to be on the cooktop at once. My favorite aspect is how beautifully and easily this cleans. Just wipe any spills, if something is burnt on just dab on some water and wait a few minutes. It will wipe up right away. The finish is as pretty as the day it was installed. I purposely waited two years to write a review as two years is truly a good test of this product. I would purchase this again and recommend it to anyone who wants a attractive, productive and easily maintained cooktop.

Love the features!
I purchased this cooktop in 11/08 because of the features. Especially the blue light. It was more expensive then the other brands I was looking at, but with Dacor's reputation I felt it was worth it. Well, it was!!
In 2011, the isolation board wouldn't light one of the burners and I called my appliance man. He was a Dacor repair rep.and he said it was a freak thing. My cook top was less then 3 years old and very CLEAN!
He told me to call Dacor. I explained the situation and how shocked I was to find out the replacement part was $245.00 and my cook-top wasn't that old!
After reviewing my complaint, Dacor called me back the next day and said that they would send me the replacement at NO COST and I had to take care of the labor. THANK YOU DACOR!!!
Well, it's been a year and a half and my cook-top is performing perfectly!! I use it daily and clean it up after every use. Because of keeping it clean, it still looks GREAT and I absolutely LOVE cooking on this cook-top. Pure joy and you won't regret this purchase. :)

Replacement for an electric cooktop which was in use 38 years.
We switched to another brand of gas cooktop in April 2012 from our 38 year old electric unit, which did not measure up to our expectations. We eventually returned it (under duress from the mfg.) and purchased this Dacor unit based on a friend's recommendation and our original search for a gas cooktop. We would have purchased the Dacor first but it did not fit the cutout in our granite surface. We eventually needed to have our granite service rep make a larger (width) cutout to fit. That was one of the downsides of not making the Dacor purchase in the first place, since it is only one of the 6 or 8 we looked at that required a larger width cutout than most.
The grates are much 'flatter' than most units we looked at during our shopping, although one of the original grates was a bit 'rocky'. But the factory shipped a new grate without any question and now we have grates that are very reasonably flat. The first unit we purchased did not have any 'flat' grates.
We like the burner control, where the guide on the dial approximates the flame height reasonably well. There is some 'backlash' at the low end of the control, maybe 5 degrees of motion or so, where there is little control. This is especially true of the smallest burner. Overall....good control. We like the blue light, burner on feature.
It takes a bit of practice to change from 'simmer' to full flame on the dual burner stations, but not a problem.
As the dishwasher, I like the shot blasted sst surface, which is easy to clean and hides any small scraps that occur on polished surfaces.
