Very poor performance
This downdraft is mostly worthless unless you are using the back burners. It won't catch any of the smoke/grease from the front burners. And that is with the most powerful blower motor that they offer. It is extremely disappointing. When I called to let the company know, they gave me lots of reasons for possible poor performance. So I checked all of their suggestions and still it works very poorly. It's also extremely noisy and the filters take a lot of strength to get out for cleaning.

Doesn't work very well
We had an electric cooktop with built-in downdraft that worked very well. When we remodeled our kitchen we installed a gas cooktop (RGC365SNG) that works great and we needed a downdraft vent system to match what we previously had. We went with the ERV3615 and used an inline blower (ILHSF8) instead of the cabinet blower to give us more storage space under the cooktop. The old cooktop had the blower installed under the cooktop and this took up almost all of the storage space under the cabinet. We were assured the inline blower would work very well but it doesn't. Has very little drawing power and only vents some of the fumes from the back burners...smoke, etc from the front burners go directly into the kitchen area. Don't know if the cabinet blower would have worked better or not. The amount of exhaust being pushed out of the house thru the vent is like a hurricane wind but the suction at the vent is very minimal. Look nice, everyone likes how it raises/lowers but it just doesn't work very well.

looks beautiful and works pretty well
I ended up purchasing the Dacor downdraft because it was one of only two downdrafts that would fit in my center island. I had purchased another downdraft because I had forgotten the trouble we had installing a downdraft the first time. Because the Dacor downdraft is slim and has the blower in a remote location it could fit in my center island. It is nice looking and I love the fact that it retracts. My previous blower was just a mounted vent. So, the Dacor does a bit better job of actually removing the steam or smoke from the stovetop, however, it doesn't work as well with the front elements as the back ones. After reading lots and lots of reviews for many different products, though, it seems that downdrafts rarely remove as much as an overhead vent and so I am happy with it. An overhead vent was not a possibility in our kitchen without really detracting from the look of the kitchen, and so I am happy with the Dacor. I think that it does as good or better than all other downdrafts, and it is sleek and attractive.

This product looks nice.
Vent could come up a little higher to catch more fumes. Also a little too noisy. looks good but average performance.
