52"/36" Built-In Outdoor Grills
Product did not hold up
This is my second Dacor grill. This is a replacement because parts are not available to fix the old one (12 years old). Had to get a similar one to fit into the opening, otherwise there a plenty out there that are a better value for the money.

This product (OBC 36") has been an expensive disappointment
When it is not in need of repair, it cooks great. The unreliability of this product for the price paid is astounding, primarily starter(s) and burner(s) in our case plus a long list of service calls. The "normal" maintenance on it requires major effort, beyond what anyone could call reasonable. I would not recommend purchase to anyone based on our experience.

DITTO ON THE LAST TWO REVIEWS
I just purchased a new home as well and had a similar experience. The grill is a nightmare to try to repair with the operative word on "try"! I pride myself on being able to fix anything but after drilling out almost every screw and replacing most parts, this one has gotten the best of me.....never another Dacor product.

Beautiful grill but...bad design for maintenance
We just bought a home with this grill installed (apx 5yrs old) Needed to rebuild inside because the gas line (not stainless steel) had rusted so badly the gas was escaping from the bottom rear connection point instead of traveling up to the burners. Complicated yes.
The rusty hole in the gas pipe where it connects to the gas hose beneath had a 1 inch hole in it... half the pipe was gone due to rust! When dismantling the grill the screws had rusted and we had to drill out most. We are experienced DYI folks but spent days trying to get the gas supply pipe out... forget about it! Impossible... why did Dacor go through so much trouble to use stainless steel only on the "pretty parts" and not the screws and gas supply line??? If you have this grill, protect it from weather...

Great Grill but the design is poor from a maintenance point of view
Had the 52" outdoor grill since 2007. Had to replace the igniters recently. What a chore. The igniters are only $18 a piece which is reasonable but the screws that hold them in were burned up. Had to take the entire heat shield that holds the igniters out of the grill. Then had to drill out the screws and replace them. The additional sheet metal shield that connects to the igniter shield could not be detached since the screws were burn up on it as well. This should have been a simple plug and play maintenance operation but it took me about 8 hours of labor to resolve. Dacor should provide each new grill with 25 extra screws which owners should replace every couple of years to ensure that parts can readily be removed.

Awesome Built-In Grill
I love this grill! The U-shaped burners tend to cook very evenly and, although I have only used it once, the infrared rotisserie burner is really cool. The two side burners don't get used as often as I thought they would, but they do work great for either cooking up sides or keeping food warm. One feature I really like is the built-in Halogen lights- especially now that daylight is very short this time of year.
