Dacor is pleased to announce that both the 48-Inch French Door Refrigerator and 48-Inch Transitional Range were selected as winners in The Chicago Athenaeum’s 2023 GOOD DESIGN® awards in the Kitchen category. Founded in 1950 by the former MoMA curator Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. alongside a group of pioneers in modern design, including Charles and Ray Eames, Russel Wright, George Nelson, and Eero Saarinen, the global awards program is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious of its kind, honoring products that have chartered new directions for innovation and pushed the envelope for competitive products in the world marketplace. In its 2024 program, the Museum received a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms, representing the best consumer design from over 55 countries in sustainability, superior design, and unparalleled function.

Dacor is honored to be recognized by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies for the innovations and design details that set our latest launches apart.” says Geraldine Morrison, Head of Luxury Brand & Product Marketing at Dacor. “With the 48-Inch French Door Refrigerator and 48-Inch Transitional Range, Dacor has pushed beyond the ordinary to present our customers with elegant details and cutting-edge features at every turn. The 2023 introductions stay true to our brand promise to deliver Life and Luxury, Connected.

The 48-Inch French Door Refrigerator is made to make a home standout. For stylish hosting, the appliance features a sensor-activated, auto-filling water pitcher with the option to infuse flavor and a Dual Icemaker that makes both standard cubed and slow-melting Whisky Ball Ice. Dacor’s FreshZone™ drawer and FreshZone+™ compartment optimize food preservation with flexible cooling modes while 3D LEDs illuminate the stainless-steel wrapped SteelCool™ interior which helps to minimize temperature fluctuations to ensure whole foods stay fresh for longer.

Characterized by a sleek user interface and bold stainless-steel touchpoints, the 48-Inch Transitional Range increases user convenience by expanding upon the brand’s cutting-edge technological integrations and features honed for precision performance. Integrated cooking capabilities include air sous-vide, air fry, Steam-Assist baking, a dual-infrared broiler, and Dacor’s signature Dual Four-Part Pure Convection technology which ensures zero flavor transfer. On the range-top, Dacor’s 22K BTU SimmerSear™ brass burners are the perfect balance of power, style, and versatility.

Both appliances are available in Dacor’s brand exclusive finishes with a premium look achieved through arduous anodizing processes that ensure a corrosion-resistant, consistent, and highly transparent result. Also available across Dacor’s offerings, WiFi-enabled SmartThings™ 3.0 integration connects the 48-Inch Refrigerator and Range to an ever-expanding network of smart appliances, allowing users remote access to a variety of features.
